Many sex slaves have suffered terribly under the terror of the Japanese occupation during World War II in South East Asia. ‘Broken Mirror’ has explored one event, although it is not a personal interview, but it did take place in all occupied regions. Many were ‘recruited’ under false pretences, supposedly to help support their families, but finding out later they had to work in brothels.

Gloria is twelve years old when she is abducted out of a camp and end up in a brothel. After the closing down of it, orders from the Army command, she ends the final years as a serf, until the end of the war. What she has to go through during these years is beyond any description. This book has become a moving and emotional one and should reach everyone in the world. Names and places of action are fictitious for the sake of the privacy of those concerned.
