East Anglia at war 1939-1945

Because of the closeness to occupied Europe, East Anglia was Britain’s front line during the Second World War. Home to secret weapons, dozens of strategic air bases and several vital ports, the region was a prime target for the enemy, initially by the threat of invasion and later through heavy bombing.
