Netherlandish art 1800-1900

This book presents a survey of 19th century Netherlandish arts based on the collections at the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum.
One hundred objects were carefully selected and give a fascinating and varied picture of the arts of that period. Attention is given to well-known as well as lesser known painters, sculptors and makers of drawings, among whom are Adriaan de Lelie, Cornelis Kruseman, Jan Willem Pieneman, Louis Royer, Barend Koekkoek, Jacob Maris, Jozef Israëls and Piet Mondriaan. The book also examines the striking decorative and applied arts of that time like furniture, silver, dress and porcelain. And the new 19th century art form of photography is represented in some detail.
