A study of communities in Bolivia.

The Bolivian revolution of 1951, one of the three real revolutions in modern Latin America, followed a course quite different from events in Cuba and Mexico. It began with a moderate reform-orientated program, but was quickly transformed by pressure from urban labor organizations and rural peasant groups into a program of radical reform that drastically affected the foundations of rural wealth, power and status. This book focusses on the human consequences that followed the economical, political, educational and other reform measures as they were introduced and implemented nationally.
